October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

  • September 20th, 2014

Breast Cancer RibbonIt’s likely that you know someone whose life has been affected by breast cancer. The disease is the second most common type of cancer in women, so in October we recognize the fight against breast cancer and the progress we have made to battle the disease. Each year new research, technology, and treatment are developed to detect and manage breast cancer.

More women today are beating breast cancer thanks to advancements in healthcare and early detection. Mammograms and breast cancer screenings help to identify risk of the disease before it gets too serious to treat. A breast cancer diagnosis does not mean that hope should be lost. There are different treatment options for those who are diagnosed with breast cancer, and many resources for the patients, family, and friends who are affected.

The American Cancer Society offers resources and a wealth of information on breast cancer so that no one is alone in the fight. Their groundbreaking research highlights must-know information about breast cancer and the latest in breast cancer news.

In order to support the fight against breast cancer and raise awareness of the disease, ID Edge carries pink breast cancer awareness lanyards and badge reels in several styles to suit your preference. These are great for healthcare professionals and for anyone who wants to promote awareness of breast cancer every day. When you buy a breast cancer awareness item from ID Edge, we donate a portion of all proceeds to the National Breast Cancer Foundation to support their mission and work.
